Let's Talk About: Are you a Photographer?

"Everyone can be a photographer" - This is true. Why? Because it is. Hehe. Photographer for me is basically a person who takes a photograph and everyone can do it. The only differences between one and another are some are professionals, some are amateurs and some are seasonal(s). Professionals are the ones who make photography as a living, to make money, as a job. Amateurs are the ones who do photography as a hobby (like me). And seasonal(s) are the ones other than the first two, you know like someone who all of the sudden has been asked to take pictures of someone else during the holiday - they didn't do it regularly so that's why I called em seasonal.

"You're not a photographer. You're just a person with an advanced camera" - This is also true. Nowadays everyone can buy a DSLR and proclaimed themselves as a photographer. But what's wrong with that? Right? Though you're only buying the camera just for trend and the only setting you use is the 'auto setting', but the hell with what other people say. You're still a photographer coz you're taking picture (duh!). What so wrong about it? and I'm not being sarcastic. Trust me. Haha.

Being a professional photographer needs more knowledge and more sense of aesthetics and all the stuffs that you can get by schooling/taking courses, that's for sure. Because when you're a professional it means you're dealing with clients and dealing with em is not an easy peasy. You have to deliver what the client wants but also what you want. So more knowledge in photography is a must.

For those who like to take pictures and keep it for personal collection, that doesn't mean you don't need knowledge of photography. It'll be more helpful if you know some basics of photography. And my suggestion is once in a while please stop using the 'auto setting' and try to explore more from your DSLR (if you're using this type of cam). That advanced cam is equipped with a lot of advance features too, so why don't you just try 'em. You won't have anything to lose.

Anyhooo...no matter what camera you use (toy cam, analog, or digital) you're still a photographer.
